Dendroid Hands

lyrics

Keeping calm amidst
Familiar strangers
Knowing I don't belong
Everything I touch is
Destined to splinter
Better not stay too long

Outstretching my arms
But my chances are fading
Can't uphold life's demands
Love without pain is
Always unlikely
Joined to my dendroid hands

I am more than they see in me
But I need to be set free
If they’d only lend ears to me
Maybe I will awake from inside

Beginning to feel my
Thoughts are unwelcome
Sorry I cause distress
Their seasons of life
Advancing without me
Tie and a proper white dress

This room’s a deafening
Societal racket
I’ll find my own way out
My sense of humour is
largely redundant
My words are soaked in doubt

I am more than they’ll ever see
But they’re growing too fast for me
If they’d only slow down for me
Maybe I won’t be cast aside

Cast to the fire..

Sometimes I lift and
Throw myself out there
"Circle 'round one and all"
I fall through the sky when I
Quickly discover they're
already bought and sold

I know if I stop and show
How I'm feeling
I'll only take 3 steps back
Nobody wants a man
Who can't handle
A life not all dressed in black

I thought I was more than they see
But their candles illuminate me
And there's a hole where my faith should be
